My new baby chicks arrived today! One died in transit but, the rest look pretty good. I ordered 7 Mottled Cochin, 5 Blue, 13 Self Blue. I didn't get any blue and it seems they are sold out until next spring. Not sure if I will have them credit my credit card or get some other chicks in place of them. I have chicks scheduled to hatch on May, 6, 12, and the 17th. I might need any more chicks????

Well, my first hatch didn't go as well. I only had one little chick hatch. My eggs were all ordered and none of them could arrive on time so, some actually sat for four days once they arrived. I only had one incubator at the time and really didn't want to try a staggered hatch after all these years. I think it's been about eight years since I incubated any eggs. As for the Frizzle eggs. I just don't know. We shall see how the second round goes.

The one chick that hatched is a Splash Frizzle Cochin. Poor little thing all by itself. My daughter put a little stuffed animal in with it. It stands on top of it when we walk into the room. I guess it thinks it will get a better view over the brooder wall!

Here is the next batch! I set them April 15th and they are due to hatch May 6th. I have 11 Black and Blue Mottled Cochins and three Mille Fleur Cochins!

Well, here I go again with the bator-bug! I set these April 1, 2010. I started with 24 Black and Blue Mottled Cochins and 12 Splash Frizzles. It has been many years since I have hatched out eggs and I will be happy if only a few hatch!
